    Correct actions for bloody poop?

Thank you again for your help! A second RIR showed the same symptoms yesterday afternoon, which had me worried. But I just checked on them and everyone is looking to be on the mend - signifcantly better than yesterday. The whole flock is being treated, and I'll do a followup round in a couple of...

    Correct actions for bloody poop?

First timer here with eight 10-week old hens. This morning when I opened the coop, there was what looked like bloody poops below the roosts. Since they had all hopped down, I couldn't tell which one was roosted where. I couldn't find any obvious injuries or bloody spots on any of them, and...

    The world slowest coop build!

Since it is built inside the existing barn, there is no worries of runoff. We just put a plywood sheet flat on top. :)

    The world slowest coop build!

We've been debating (arguing? In a most loving way, of course!) the level of security needed against predators. This coop is inside of a barn, which helps keep most of the larger animals at bay. And hardware cloth is still an option on the table. :) Between me worrying about predators and...

    The world slowest coop build!

Hubby is getting to coop done! All of the major building is done, just need to finish the details. The gap at the top for ventilation will be covered with chicken wire. I think we will also add 2" holes along the sides as well. Need to add nesting boxes and roosts, finish the fence, add a door...

I will get some today! It has been oppressively hot, so building progress has slowed, and the most recent accomplishments have been buried fencing and electric run to the barn - not too exciting! LOL

The coop and run are in progress. My husband should finish all of that up in the next week or two. We figured the chicks would be in the brooder in our sunroom for several weeks anyhow. I wanted to get them now, so they would be big enough for the coop before winter weather arrives.
