    Someone save me

Yes. My older hen. This hens mother actually. I got 4 rosecomb bantams 2 years ago from an old friend. Since then, one female broke her leg as it got caught in a cage that wasn’t properly fixed. I raised many chicks off my remaining hen and males. Then I was left with 2 males and a female, since...

    Someone save me

This is her this morning. She’s active and eating. I put a salve on it this morning it’s not looking infected or anything like that. But I am sad to say that my leghorn male that I talked about in this thread did pass away this morning. I am really hoping for my hen to come through and the last...

Then today one of my rosecombs tore up another’s back to the point of no return, then my only leghorn male. Who is imported and...

    Bloated chicks?

All other chicks are fine. I’m using the same brand/type of medicated chick starter that I’ve been using for years. And the same vitamins for the water that I’ve had no problems with in previous years. Butts on them look good. I’m using Pine shavings

    Bloated chicks?

Hey all you wonderful people out their in the chicken world. I seem to have run into a slight problem with some of my leghorn babys. They are quite bloated and get to the point where its almost impossible to walk or move. It looks as if its a water-bloat because when i pick them up water runs...

    Frostbite or fowl pox?

the tips of the comb usually freeze first. I believe it looks like dry blood on the comb. From pecking or fighting, its usual and nothing to worry about if its just a little bit of bickering going on. I have no experience with fowl pox, so i wouldn't know. If they are doing fine other than the...
