This is a great idea. I'll give them a call today.
So far Caitryn is doing pretty well. I work at home and have been with her a lot. She's eating very well too. She's not interested in leaving her nesting area yet but hopefully tomorrow she'll want outside to enjoy a nice warm day.
Thank you...
Thanks for the tip. I put some feelers out for grown duck buddies, we'll have to see how that goes.
Truth be told, I'd love it if she were my house and greenhouse buddy. But I'm certain I'll get an earful from my husband about her being in the house when he gets home tonight. 😬
A coyote attack took most of my flock and one of the two survivors passed this morning. I am worried about my single survivor's emotional well being now that she is all alone.
Caitryn is a Welsh Harlequin about 3 years old. She was not injured in the attack and is physically healthy. But she...
She was a rescue from a cold, cold night and I lost her tonight. 😢
I don’t really know what happened. i rescued her last night. Got her warmed up and safe. She’s drink for me. This morning she was all sorts of energetic, not much for eating but the energy level was good. By evening she was...

Augusta has survived the attack by the weasel. She is inside with her sister. She is walking, eating, quacking, bathing. But today I noticed a couple...
Thank you everyone! A bath is in the works today so she can get a good rinse -- and a bit of exercise too.
I think we're OK with infection (thank goodness!). Her wounds from the attack look more surface than puncture. I have some antibiotics and metacam from the vet also.
She has started...
OK, so I need some help on this one.
I lost a number of my babies to a &^%@! mink a few days ago. I have the survivors inside for care and calming. I was tending to one of them this afternoon and she had a distinct musky smell, like a mink or weasel.
She's been a bit unsettled since the attack...
I agree, the guilt on my part is as heavy as the loss of 2 of my flock. I had 1/2" cloth in place, but a small gap between a section was all it took. Plus I had some hay bales stacked along the back of the run (for wind protection) and that gave cover to the murderer. After I'm done with...
