I am interested in buying a Bourbon Red Turkey hen. I raised my tom from a chick, but unfortunately, the other chick was a tom as well. So now I would like to find him a potential mate. She would be a free range pet.
All the hatcheries state that Bourbon Red chicks are straight run, so I...
***NOTE...I can not figure out how to post a photo of The Colonel. I wish I could share him with you. If anyone can help...
This is my “throw away” rooster. His name is The Colonel. He is a Bantam Rooster, but I am not sure of what breed. I just know he is beautiful.
I discovered him on the...
This is my “throw away” rooster. I discovered him on the road in front of my house. Someone had tossed him out of their vehicle. I saw no movement and thought that he was dead. But I couldn’t just leave him there, so I went out to examine him. To my surprise, he was weak, but he was alive. I...
My Bourbon Red Tom Turkey is about a year old now. When I bought him as a baby, it was with another chick. But they both grew up to be toms and I made a choice. I traded the other tom for a turkey hen, "Jenny-O".
"Gentleman Jack" really is a gentleman. He is friendly and likes to show off how...
I have 9 Mallard ducklings that I am raising with my Call Ducks & ducklings. Actually at this point the Call Ducks are being kind of honery with the Mallards, but mostly just a little pecking order type bullying. But I am concerned that when the Mallards get bigger that the tables will turn and...

OMG!!! How terrible! I am so sorry for your losses! That's so sad.
The only thing I can think of is that my chickens and geese are not in any type of "run". We have a small pasture (just under 1/4 acre) that they are loose in each day. The chickens simply move away from where the geese are...
wasn't sure...may give the new ones a day or two to get their land legs. The older gosling is SOOOOO much larger than them now. And tiny bit spoiled perhaps
Then I will test the grounds. What do you think?
OH MY GOODNESS!!!
After some kind thoughts and replies to my various posts concerning the lack of hatching goslings, I went outside to check on her once again...
There is a total of three goslings!
Thank you everyone who replied for listening to this old hen!

I put eggs from my Chinese Geese in the incubator. Only two were able to attempt to hatch, but after 24 hours I helped them out the rest of the way. One was malformed and did not survive more than a couple hours, but the other one is beautiful and just perfect.
My question is now that she is...
