Hi Marcie, well I have two of Kevin Porters BZN I hatched out, right now I think they're both hens, time will tell. I would prefer to get some BZN next season from the source. Has anyone here used
http://www.countryhatchery.net/ I heard they're original BZN turkeys came from Frank's line...
As anyone here managed to get any turkey poults or hatching eggs from Frank Reese? I've been searching for some of his Bronze stock but so far I haven't been able to find any forsale. Someone mentioned to drive out to his ranch since Frank doesn't ship poults or eggs, but I'm in New England...
Hi all I have a GQF 1502 cabinet incubator, and now I'm at that point where I'm doing staggered hatches and need a seperate reliable hatcher. Looking for input from others on if you own a GQF or Dickey Hatcher, and why you purchased it? GQF is probably more common, and parts maybe easier to...
Like I mentioned in my previous post the single metal 110V mechanical fan had a long history & track record, I believe that fan was replaced with the dual computer fans sometime around 2007 when GQF converted all of their cabinet incubators from wood to plastic board.. Not sure how long the...
Wow!! Just swapped out the 12 volt Computer fans with the new/updated 110 Volt Fans, and now my 1502 is so quite I can barely hear it running. The 12 volt fans have a plastic housing while the new 110 volt fans have a metal housing, much more beefier. I'm not sure when GQF made this upgrade...

Those metal fans had a long track record, not sure how long ago GQF replaced them with the new 2 large computer fans, but probably hasn't been too long. Working the bugs out of the new designs, I do like the electronic thermostat, seems to be right on with the temp, but GQF does...
OK, my 1502 was manufactured in 2013, it has the two large plastic computer fans, I spoke with GQF today, and they didn't admit there is an issue with these fans, but did indicate that there is now a replacement fan that should provide a longer life, the person I spoke with also recommended...
Anyone have to replace one or both of the fans in their 1502 Sportman? One of the fans seems to be seizing up occasionally, not sure if some lubrication will help, I'll have to take the back off to see what I can get too. I emailed GQF 2 days ago but haven't gotten a reply, guess I'll try...
Hello,
We are looking to add some Dutch Hookbills, and more East Indie ducks to our
group this coming spring. If anyone here sells hatching eggs for either of these two varieties please let us know. We can also do a trade if we have some hatching eggs you would like in return.
Cheers! Zekii
Yes, those cords that are wired wrapped definitely are helpful, but extension cords don't come wired wrapped, but we do
try to use a 12 or 10 gauge good quality outdoor extension cords, Can you explain more about those cuphooks? Are they attached to poles?
We're going to tray a floating deicer...
We don't have problems with keeping heated water bowls/waterers for the chickens, ducks and turkeys because they don't chew on the electrical cables, but geese do...yikes!
What do you do to provide frozen free water for your geese flock in winter...and I'm talking winters where the temps get...
I think my turkeys prefer the colder weather to the hot weather, they are outside on the coldest days in winter with snow and all.
The hardest thing with keeping any poultry here is to provide frozen free water for them. Heated water bowls seem to work well for
the turkeys.
