I would use PVC pipe get some 3/4 inch look at my pics you could attach it rite too your coop- Zig Man

I would get some Tyvek plastic cover it then get some ceder fence boards i got some at a fence company for 50 cents a board will make your coop look better and be insulated never used hardware cloth.Check out home depot they have this plastic sheeting that looks like metel it's perfect for roofs- Zig Man

Yes i tyvek everything then cover with ceder fence boards I am also in colorado I have bears I have my coops and runs electrified so nothing can get in at night i got a 8000volt bull fence charger I turn it off when I have groups free rangeing so they dont get shocked also I keep a 120volt light...- Zig Man

Frame it out with a 2x4 and cut some chicken wire easy! and its will be vented use screws with washers to attach fench if you cant hammer inside there keep food in a mouse proof container in storage- Zig Man
