  • Hi Penny,
What happened with your Silkie chicken? I am going through a similar situation with a lame Silkie mix…going on 4 weeks.

its hard because she is eating and drinking kinda. But she really is just sitting and has gotten so thin.

Mine is eating well & looks bright eyed & fully aware after we started antibiotics with her , she would be considered normal if it weren’t for her legs not working. Now it is both legs so we may cull her soon so she doesn’t suffer being immobile. Have you had any testing done on yours to determine if Mareks or anything else?

Ours is the same. Very bright eyed and aware but both legs not working. One can grasp but she cannot stand at all. And now she’s doing a weird head shake thing. I may submit bloodwork this week to check for mareks but I feel like the end may need to be close for her. I feel so bad she can’t do normal chicken stuff and while she’s eating and drinking some. It’s not much and she’s just bones right now.
