  • I was just reading your Jabber I'm homeschooled too! and I also love to write :P also my fav. colors are purple, blue and red =D
LOL...I was going to come on here and ask you the same thing!! My babies are doing great! They are spending their days in their enclosure in the run and are really enjoying life! How are yours doing today? :-)
For the age of your chicks, the combs and wattles will start to slightly redden pretty soon. But keep an eye on the legs. Cockerels usually have huge legs compared to pullets. So if they are the same size as the others, you probably have a sweet pullet!!!! :-)
I took a look at your bird in question in the gender section. I am leaning toward pullet, but I am no expert! LOL Look at her legs and compare them to the other birds her age. If this bird is a cockerel, you should see MUCH bigger legs that the ones you believe are pullets. Cockerels grow tree trunks for legs early on. Sometimes earlier than red combs. :-) Keep me posted!!
Hi Sarah! The babies are doing quite well! Hermione and her scales issue is nearly healed up. I am leaving the wrap on one more day just in case. Had them out in their enclosure in the run all day and they enjoyed themselves. I think the adult flock enjoys having them as when I take the babies away, they are all crowding around looking for the chicks! LOL
How are your babies doing today? How old are they now? :-)
Ha! Nothing wrong with just shaving it all off! I am sure he enjoys feeling cool with out all that hair! And they don't care what they look like. My Maltese would never stand for all the primping and the bows in the hair. I just give him the puppy cut with the electric shears set at 1/2 inch and off comes the hair!!
Do you groom him yourself or does he go to the groomers?? I have taught myself to groom my Maltese as going to the groomers is too stressful for him and expensive! :-)
Scary scary! I always get really nervous mixing birds. LOL I hope your girls all mix well and keep me updated on the mixing day!! Awww.....is that your dog?? He is ADORABLE!!! He looks like a real snuggler!!! :-)
