This waterer is best suited for adult birds. It is made of strong, heavy-duty plastic with a top-fill design that is easy to use. The valve in base controls water flow. It needs to be closed when filling and then opened to allow water to fill the base. For best results, set the waterer on flat ground before filling.

Pros: Holds 8 gallons of water, only have to fill it up every 2-3 days

Cons: Water bowl gets dirty, tilt to side to flush it out.

I have found that by cracking open the lid each day will fill the water bowl to the max, then I close the lid. Easy peasy.

Pros: Holds a lot of water, adjustable water depth

Cons: Hard to take apart and clean

This waterer would probably be great for a flock of just chickens, however, adding ducks and geese they make such a mess in any waterer. This one is especially difficult to clean because the top screw cap is not large enough to put your hand in to access the inside of the jug. There is a spout at the bottom that gets really dirty on the inside, and is very hard to clean. At my house the saying goes "work smarter, not harder", so we replaced this with a different type.
