12 week old Cochin and Wyandotte

So my cochin I bought as a sexed hen, but she appears to be a rooster :( Any thoughts for sure? My wyandotte, likewise, seems to be a rooster: Both are 12 weeks old. Any thoughts??? Thanks so much!!

    Is my Cochin a pullet?

Hi all! My blue cochin (not bantam, full-sized) Azure is almost 8 weeks old. I bought her as a female day old chick from a hatchery, but her comb and wattles kinda look too large and red for a girl. Is Azure a roo? :(

7 wks old: BLRW and unknown breed

I agree! The BLRW does have a bit more red. Oh well. Thanks so much for the helpful info about green feet and EEs. That's so helpful! Indeed, my mystery bird doesn't have cheek tufts, but I might have gotten a clean faced one. :D

7 wks old: BLRW and unknown breed

Thank you so much!!! I realized that there was a typo -- my chickens are 7 weeks old, not 17 -- but I still think my BLRW could be a pullet. Are Easter Eggers the only breed with green shanks/feet?

Hi all!!! I have a batch of chickens that are a little over 7 weeks old. I have a BLRW, who I don't know the gender of. And here is my unknown chicken. I believe she's a female, since she has almost no comb/wattles and there is no redness there, but I don't know what breed she is...

Hi everyone!!! I am a senior in college, who has raised chickens for years (but never incubated eggs). Since I'm studying engineering, for my senior project, I am constructing an incubator with automatic temperature/humidity control and automatic egg turning. My question is: how sensitive...

Need help with breed of 6 chickens--age 11 weeks

I don't think the first one is an andalusian -- andalusians are really skinny/slender and yours looks a bit bulkier. Not sure what she could be though! And yes, all of them are definitely girls, and the red ones are Red Sex Links ^_^

    Silkie sexing?

Hi everyone! This is my silkie Fiona. He/she is a bantam silkie, about 8-9 weeks old. I know silkies are super hard to sex, but I was just wondering if anyone had an idea? I think/hope it's a girl, but I don't know! Anyone want to guess? Thanks in advance :)

    Cruel disposal of unwanted chicks?

Hi everyone, I stumbled upon a video that says male chicks at hatcheries are "ground up alive" because they are not sold (). I was wondering -- is this really what hatcheries do to unwanted chicks? Is this video legitimate? And, if not, how DO hatcheries dispose of unwanted chicks? Thanks!
