Well, for what it's worth and trust me it's not much I'm not an expert. But I can tell you he's too upright, he's more like a game rooster based on his posture. Also his legs are greenish and his coloring on his body isn't right and his comb is the wrong type. Just type "welsummer rooster" in your browser and compare photos, you'll see.

Oh, it is all just so confusing. I have been searching, googling now for months...since he got big enuff to grow feathers. I finallt gave up and posted the pictures, because I cannot determine it on my own. I am new to chickens as of 6 months ago. Thanks for all and any input.

These birds are not Welsummers....they look to me like they would be a game fowl of some sort. Not really familiar with games so I can't comment much further than that. They are beautiful and you will find this color and pattern in almost every breed of chickens.
Merry Christmas and I hope someone who may know more about game birds comes by to give their opinions and advise for you.

I can understand your confusion and frustration. Can you give us a little more info about where you got those birds from and why you are interested in Wellies? Do you like the egg color? Or are you interested in the preservation of the breed as well? If you are interested in the breed for preservation purposes, you might consider getting some eggs or chicks from one of the very reputable breeders on this site.
