I think fluid or hernia -- I don't think she is eggbound because this has happened on and off...I have four laying ducks so I have a hard time keeping track of who is laying when. I wish there was a better way...Thank you for your help!
I have 14 call ducks, male and female. Yesterday, I noticed the smallest of my females was a little fluffed up and acting abnormally. I noticed that something appeared strange with her vent. It was kind of swollen and there were no feathers around it. She hasn't laid anegg since and her...
Thank you so much @happy duck!
I'll try snap some more photos!
She hasn't laid for a few days so I'm keeping an eye on her - I'm scared she's egg-bound. I really do over analyse everything and worry too much to be fair.
I moved the eggs to the house two nights ago but she just keeps pooping on...
So, aside from my disabled duck Gollum, all of my other ducks were acting completely normal until yesterday when I saw my khaki panting. Today she is acting normally, but her belly is making really loud noises and I found GREEN poop in the run today. I am guessing it's from her. One of my rouens...
I would try to get a filter on the pond. Also renaming is fairly easy. Up by the thread name there should be a place that edit or something like that. It should give you the option to rename it.
Thank you all so much for the info!!!
Good news: after a warm bath, I was able to get pretty much all the caked-on poop and dirty feathers off. She was so calm through the whole thing!! Her skin and vent area looked surprisingly pink, clean, and healthy considering how bad the surrounding...
They can still poop while the egg is in the shell gland.
Good you're keeping an eye on her, clearly she's not feeling well,
When possibly eggbound, one of the things my vet has me do is give fluids, so it's good she's drinking.
You're welcome! :hugs

Still no change with her condition. I kept her penned away from the other ducks while I was at work. I did also leave her some eletrolyte water to drink.
When I looked in on her, it seemed as if she hadn't drank much if any. My husband helped me to force feed some of it into her with a...

Updates:
On Friday we gave her a quarter of a crushed up TUMS and I sprinkled some on their food (thanks for the advice here and on other threads I dug through) and a warm epsom salt bath and tried to use coconut oil to lube up the cloaca and help her out, at the advice of a local friend - I...
Ya' know, I was thinking, I was in that room a long time before she came in. I wonder how much she was "refreshing" or looking up online before she came in. I did see the other links as well. Thank you for the info. Just seems like everyone has a different opinion of what's best. You'd think a...
