All these girls are just under 5 months. They were from a mix from MPC. If you know what they are, please let us know..We have ideas, but aren't sure.
This black one, has white lobes, black feet and much smaller than the rest (thus the pic with the rock for comparison). She's also, very...
We just took another look while they were settled down and best we can tell, the ones that are white and black in #2 pic...two of them have rose combs for sure..One has a definate single comb and the one in pic one looks like it could be a rose comb, but it's more like it's a nothing piece of...
Thanks all for the replies...we're going to go take a close look at them later when we have time to catch them. LOL Oh and BTW, there shouldn't be any roos in there, at least I hope not!
All these chicks are about 7 weeks. Ideas on what these are?
Seems to be a slow grower? I really have no clue on this one
We have a couple of these different 'greyness'...we call them the "Ghost chickens"
Some kind of Wyandotes?
Brown Leghorn? Welsummer?
GL Wyandote?
Grey Ghost...
We grow people food and chicken food in there, when the crops are done, that area becomes more of a run area. We have timbers down and 1" wire up to keep them out, but they manage sometimes LOL
We've been raising chickens for 3-4 years now. Starting out expecting to raise 3-5 chickens...at current raising nearly 100. We started with a coop that we attached to our current shed and built a small run around it, expanded it with the run you see in the first pic that's falling down, and...
None have feathered feet, that was the first thing we looked for LOL. Cool on the EE's We haven't had any of those before, didn't have a clue what their chicks would look like. I thought Brahma's were only bantam?
Yeah, we kinda figured we'd have to wait a while, but you know it's hard being patient when it comes to chicks. LOL We'll post more pics when they get a bit older and are more feathered out.
We bought a run of Barred Rocks and a mixed run. Here are a few picks on my flickr. If you have any idea please respond. We have ID'd many of them, but there are still a few we haven't. Like the White one with grey feet...Looks like a ghost chick. Then the fuzzy little silver ones. And the...
Thanks for all your replies.
The girls are all nice and cozy in the coop. The Boys hang out in the yard and roost on the shed.
After reading your replies I think maybe it's the light. The house has security lights that have motion sensors.
I suspect that critters might be kicking off those...
Hi Everyone,
We have about 10 full grown roosters who free range in the back yard.
We have been keeping/raising chickens for about 2.5 years now and are still learning as we go.
Before we got them I always thought roosters only crowed in the mornings, well quickly found out that isn't the case...
Hi Fellow Chicken lovers,
I have about 40 chickens in a coop and very large run/pen.
We have had them for about 2 years now and never had a problem with flys like we do now. I keep the coop and run very clean, well as clean as chickens can be. I scrape up poop from the poop shelves in the coop...
Hi,
A lot of my chickens are losing their feathers. They are missing from their faces and others from their backs and wings.
We only have hens in the run so no roos to be pulling them out.
I am wondering if it might be a parasite? They are due for a dusting which we do about 3 times a year but...
