Funny enough my cuckoos have dark eggs all throughout (they lay my darkest).
The Blue's/BCM's all start lighter after molt and then get heavier. Are you sure there isn't a bunch of bloom on that first one? It does look hazy almost.
NY state is ... sue happy I feel lol. I'm leaning towards if I don't have people buying eggs to hatch we just keep them and gift them but wife wants me to pay for their food
Just a general question for the group since I know a lot watch here.
Who do you all go through for insurance (if you sell eggs/products)? I'm having the best time trying to find insurance agents that know what they are doing, or aren't scared to talk "business" lol.
Cleaned up and kicked out the broodies trying to hatch more today. Some of them had hidden all these in the litter of the coop lol. I was wondering why 3 of the BCM's stopped laying well this is whyyy.
Anyway molt seems to be going on for half the group, so I assume the other half is about to...
Well you see I have a bunch of cuckoos now that I can just.. drop off? I hear I have a very very pretty golden cuckoo that would make a handsome gentleman I think.
I wasn't planning to do a GCM line lol. These are part of my "surprise" hatched by one mom outside.
I believe you are right they all have wheaten legs tbh. They are almost pale whit/light pink w/ feathering.
I'll have to see what the little ones grow out, because they might end up being...
@BlueTheBrahma
Dad is in the front here (BCM) he does have some I'd say gold leakage. Gold Cuckoo (Above) and the other gold cuckoo I don't have a real great pic on but she's in the back behind the rooster to the right just blurry. She's just got no gold hackles. If it stops raining I'll send...
Ty!
More questions :)
The one closest to me is a golden cuckoo (hen) x BCM (roo).
The one in the back is a "golden" but their mom is more grey w/ no gold hackling. The barring is throwing me off too, and my wife thinks something is wrong w/ the moms or they aren't true cuckoo. I'll have to...
Do you know about the barring/cuckoo that much lol.
I have a mystery bird I hatched out from my blue black splashes.
It's almost perfect barring which suspects me not a cuckoo and i'm almost 100% on it being a rooster lol.

Good packaging + great communication. Honestly my best hatch rate out of all the birds.
Honestly good stock so far. 4/5 of the BCM's had the gold neck dots.
Interesting enough the blues from Cedar also had the gold dots on their necks...
We are in the flight path for all international flights in our area. So he does tend to call for anything. Half the time im glinting and like DUDE it's a AIRPLANE. Rather him call then not I guess
But to answer your question. I have my OG line tagged by the state for the NPIP w/ numbers so I track them that way.
These new ones I'm going to do the permanent bands in about two weeks. Plan is to make sure they standout, and easier to guide.
I'm also in the process to sourcing a shed to...
I somehow also ended up with a blue cuckoo from Cedar Hills too. (he had labeled it as a freebie). Going to be a rooster I'm almost certain (hackles up and harassing my splash). Also is the largest of the babies. But very cute. Maybe I'll separate out the golden/cuckoos.
So funny enough. The splash and blues all came from Cedar. The black all came from the greenfire farms offshoot.
I had none from the texas BBS hatch technically.
Then I have two EE x BCM crosses, One BCM from my current line, and then two cuckoo's (roosters) I'll have to get some pics of them...
