    funky combs with pics

    We've got 2 roos with spots on thier combs. It's like they are turning black from the tips. If it is frostbite can I do somthing about it or just wait. We have a heat lamp in the coop and they sit right under it. Could it be some fungus or something?

    One eye doesn't open

    Our chicks hatched on Christmas. It was much fun. The last one to hatch is a bit smaller than the others and one eye doesn't open. Any thoughts on this? Do you think washing it might help, maybe it's just stuck. I'm sure this will be a great disadvantage in the flock.

    Merry Christmas!!!!! Nine chicks is the sum for the two days. We have mixed breed eggs too, so 2 of them are black, the rest are orangish. We are proud. We still have 3 eggs, don't know if they will hatch or not, still waiting for a couple of days. Now, when do they get out of the brooder?

    I think that they are Rhode Is. Reds. But they may be mixed with Plymouth. we just got some eggs from our neighbors. So, it's whatever they have.
