The Wootton Family Farm
(still to be named)
Our family began on April Fool's Day 2007. We have 6 children (his and hers) and there will be NO ours. They range in age from 17 down to 8 and are a bundle of fun.
Our farm family includes 2 Tennessee Fainter goats with hopes of babies in the spring...
I have hatched two Ameruacana/Welsummer hens. One looked very much like a Welsummer and laid a light speckled egg. The other look more Ameruacana and lays an olive egg. I have 6 of her eggs with BCM rooster eggs incubating now.
We had our pastor send around an email saying we had eggs for sale and needed cartons. We now get way more cartons than we can use and are getting more buyers each week.
I will admit I didn't read the whole thing.... but why does it seem there are only 2 options? Keep the current system or go Universal? Are there no other ways?
Take out the insurance part all together.... don't attach insurance to a job..... medical facilities lower their fees.... stop...
They are mostly black like the cuckoos but with a bit more white on them.... only 2 weeks old so not enough feathering for me to tell yet. Most of my computer time is at work so putting pics on is tough. I will try to sneak on between my DH working and kids' homework.
They were abandoned by their mothers at lay.
Used by the "Organization" to keep the VIP's warm.
Now they are being told they are "taking up space".
Please save these youngsters from the certainty of joining a gang and wrecking havoc on the unsuspecting masses. A little attention and love...
I handle mine all the time. That's the best thing about being a grown-up and having chicks - nobody tells me to put my own chicks away!
LOVE IT! I totally agree. They are mine to play with whenever I want! I have to share with the kids and try to play nice. I don't want any that are a...
I have two chicks outside with momma. They hatched there and are 3 weeks old now doing great. They were out walking around in 20 degree weather! Any reason you don't want the chick outside with momma?
My husband didn't grow up farming either.... Northern Va man... and originally said no to chickens. Now we have 24 adults and at least that many babies plus ducks and turkeys. Those little fuzz balls can soften nearly anyone's hard heart.
I will have to check out the chicken stock myself...
Can't help you with the chickens but welcome. Where in MD are you? I live east of Hagerstown. I only have extra boys right now.
They won't help you much. I was afraid of roosters causing havoc in the neighborhood but none of ours care. They actually like it! We are on 1.3 acres so not on...
I have the same issue. Ordered 5 light brahma pullets from Ideal and they do not all look alike. 2 are darker like yours. I wondered if they switched chicks on me... lol. guess not.
I have a family of 8 (though we only have 3 of the kids weekends). We spend about $300 a month... not counting eating out which varies.
I do shop at a discount grocery run by the Amish. You have to look for dates and bugs, etc but that is worth it to get the great deals.
I walk out of there...
