It is too cool for panting, its 60 degrees out. I just tried a little olive oil down the side of her beak. Her crop feels hard...didnt thing this could happen to a chick but I guess the mom hen doesn't know if they are pecking at things that are too big for them?

Nope I don't wash them...bloom protects them and my girls are clean layers so far. I heard if u do wash them do so with watrer that is warmer than the egg.
