I'm getting ready to turn on the girls light in the coop and was wondering if a energy efficient Full Spectrum light be better than just a energy efficient one? The coop is 8' X 8" and have 6 Bantam's. We use a Full Spectrum bulb on our pet bird cage for one hour a day.
Penney layed her egg yesterday. The shell was soft, I guess she hasn't been eating the Calcium I've been leaving out. The other girls eggs are fine. Thank you for all yor help!
She is 8mths old. She is looking normal, no signs of injuries, she was fine when they roosted last night. She is setting in the nest box now so will see if she lays this morning. Her egg was normal yesterday.
Thanks
She is all puffed up and stands in one place hunched over with runny poop this morning. She was fine yesterday.
Is their anything I can give her to make her feel better? If she is egg bound do I go in vent with vaseline to lubricate and hope she can push the egg out?
Thanks
I just got my first Black Leghorn Bantam 4 wks ago. She is around 6-7 mths old. She is very friendly curious and lets me pick her up. I have a White Leghorn Bantam and she is the same way, 2 yrs old, very friendly. Your three are probably "clicky" because they are all the same age, they will...
Is this normal? This is her first molt, never imagined she would look this bad because she started getting a bald head then she got worse. Is their a supplement that would help? I've been giving her scratch with lots of sunflower seeds in the evening.
Wow, this baby was really abused. I took mine away from the mother except for supevised feedings, only thing I could do and all her feathers grew back. I'm sure your will to. Keep me posted.
Hi, I have a 3 week old cockatiel that has small eyes. They seem to have a haze over them also. I started to moisten them with a cotton ball to see if this helps. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks, Judy
Pearl's babies are 4 wks old and she is biting their pin feathers so their not growing out. I put the babies in a smaller box so she can't pull feathers at night. During the day she is busy feeding them and doesn't stay in the nest box. Percy, the father doesn't do this. Is this the only...
I tried breaking it up with a toothpick and later went out and the air dryed it up, Thank Goodness. Next time I'll take a warm moist cloth. This is a good lesson, when I give them Cornbread for a treat I'm breaking in up real crumbly not in chunks, she stuck her entire nose it in!
I noticed today that my chicken had cornbread stuck over her nostril. I took a qtip and got the hardened surface off her nostril but there is more in the inside. I can't seem to pick it out, its soft and wants to go deeper. Has anyone had this happen and what did they do?
Hi, I'm new to the Polish Thread and sure enjoy seeing your Pic's. This little Peanut is sooo CUTE! I have golden laced Polish, one turned out to be a Cockeral and the other a Hen. Your right about their top hats, my girl has a rounded neatly compact top and he has straight up unruly top...
