Hi friends! I'm saddened to say my beautiful speckled Sussex has sour crop. I noticed it two days ago when I went to pick her up. Her crop was huge like a water ballon, it's super squishy and her breath just smells horrible. I put her on acv water and have drained her crop but everytime I drain...
Hi guys!!
I'm trying to figure out what type of breed or mix my Piper may be! I originally picked her up at the local feed store where she was in the "meat" chicken bin. She is about 7 months old right now, she started to lay at 5 months actually! I feel like that's kind of young.. She is...
Her butt and the poo that comes out when she tries. She has a hard time relieving herself, she almost pants and makes a deep breathing noise. Her poo is kinda liquidy and smells RANK!
One of my girls has had a stinky butt problem :( when she was a few weeks old she had pasty butt (so I thought) kept her warm but not hot, plenty of fresh water and clean bedding everyday. I've tried water and Ava, probiotic water, but nothing has seemed to help her problem. I have no idea what...
Just curious, what happened to your chick? did you end up figuring it out? I have a cornish who has had the same problem since I got her a few weeks ago.
Wow! The resemblance is crazy!!! Such a beautiful girl. I excited to keep her now with the rest of my flock :) who knew that this little girl would have a spared life! Makes my heart warm inside.
They were all labeled meat chicks when I picked her up. I asked the guy helping me if they were a Cornish x and he didn't really know.. I kinda took my chances but she does sure seem different! What would be some other signs she is one as she gets older?
I picked this girl up along with some others that's were "meat" chicks from the feed store a few weeks ago. she is obviously not a Cornish x? Maybe I'm wrong but she doesn't look anything like the others. Her feet are darker and she is getting more golden feathers towards her neck and her beak...
My chicks don't look anywhere near that.... They are going to be four weeks old this next Tuesday I am feeding them regular 18%. They have access to food as well as foraging for a few hours a day. What other breed could they possibly be? The store I got them from was very adimit about them being...
She is doing a lot better! She still has a bulge, but she has been relieving herself a little more often! I gave her some probiotic water and just soaked her little
Bum in some lukewarm water in hopes it will moisten the stuff stuck inside of her! Hoping for the best right now!
She does looked backed up, would maybe feeding something like applesauce to her make it easier for her to relieve herself? She is able to make poo but its small (not horribly small at least!)
My baby chick that I got about a week ago has a bulging butt! When I get her she kinda had some diarrhea, since she had no feathers back there it just ran and stuck to her skin. I was able to stop the diarrhea and she appears to be pooping normally, but I can't help but wonder if her butt is...
