my super aggressive Rhode Island Red rooster drew blood on everybody else, but would sleep in my arms on his back as if he were a baby. the only thing i did to make him so good to me was to repeatedly test him and challenge him, fighting back when he would take me on. for example, id wave a hand...

Quote: that is very cool its amazing when they learn to get around their handicaps. i honestly did think of culling her. part of the reason i took her was because i knew i was one of the only ones with the heart to end her suffering if she wasnt doing too well. i guess i figured a few days...

Something ate one of my coturnix hens.

Quote: ive kept many rats as pets and they go EVERYWHERE... besides they can chew through concrete. ive seen it. if the winter has been so-so and it suddenly gets harsher, rodents flood homes and eat whatever they can find. my cage was full when an unfortunate female "layed" some of her...

Coturnix quail are the best survivors i have ever seen, and i just needed to share this girl's story. she was hatched at an expo i was speaking at, and her chances were looking dim. i read that the condition only worsens with age and they often die only a few days old. still, i took her home...

She still sat on a rock in her nest and attacked my hand and sat like it would come of anything. That pair wasnt...

    Deformed Gosling?! Help please... ASAP!

I hatched out a chick a little like his but it was a quail and due to temperature fluctuations it hatched before its abdomen closed off completely. keep it clean, covered, and mpist and keep that little guy in his own little place. Feed him wetted down food and sugar water. He might pull...

    What age do you slaughter?

Quote: The killin cone looks great but not final enough for the beginner. Not for me anyway. The first animals i killed, i did it with a rock. That way, you can draw a dot on your concrete or wtv and practice hitting your mark. Once its done its very easy just to look away. Just make sure you...
