I will put stuff animal i there..
It's just soo sad...
During last hatch, I had one that came out very early and 5 others came out quite a late..
I wish others will hatch as well..
+ I have a broody hen.. if they hatch, can I put the one that hatched today with the broody hen?
Today is day 16 for my hatch of 10 button quail eggs and only 1 hatched out so far..
She (or he) hatched around 5 in the morning today, I think.
None of the others hatched out and I'm really worried about the lonely one.
I have 5 adults but I don't think it's safe to put the baby with adults...
I have a broody button quail!!
She was laying in a nest so I didn't bother with her eggs and choose to watch what she'll be doing and she went broody!
She has total 8 eggs (I think) and is sitting on it for almost 7 hours straight!
What should I do for her? Will she be eating and drinking normally?
I just found out that the fan in my bator wasn't working...
Today is 2nd day and I think the fan was out the whole time..
So it was still air for 3 day on temp of 99~100.
Just turned on the fan and the temp spiked up to 108... It's going down right now to 107..
The temp spike has been around for...
Well many people told me not to buy Dumor since it has low protein and is not that good for quails..
But Dumor was the only feed that I can find for my button quails..
Other feeds were TOO BIG and TOO expensive.
I only raise them as pets (since they are so tiny and so cute and makes funny...
I'm currently feeding them 20% feed from the very beginning.
I know that the protein was kinda low so I gave them eggs once in three days and some veggies.
I bought 2 cuttle bones today. Well one was broken into half so I grinded one half and mixed it in the feed for those that are laying right...
yay then i'll try to hatch those eggs.
I got another one today at the same place. guess only one of them is laying eggs when I have another female..
Also I have another pair that I separated since the males were fighting (even tho they grew up together).
Should I expect eggs from them as well...
I just found out first button quail egg in the cage where there is 2 female button and 1 that I'm not sure of.
This one is the one that I'm not very sure of. Is this roo or a hen? someone told me that he was a roo..
Yes I checked every one of them.. but still none of them had mites..
This one died yesterday.............. I was trying to give him some water but he was already dead...
None of the other ones have same symptoms.. they are all okay.
Second pic is from about a week ago and first pic is from yesterday.
I currently have 6 button quails. I think I have 2 males and 4 females.
While cleaning their house yesterday, I noticed that few feathers were plucked from the silver male.
I'm not sure if he was bullied or anything, but I...
I tried to pair them up, but they cry for whole day when they are separated from each other...
I tried it yesterday and they really cry loud.... I think I have 3 males and 3 females..
I have brown, black, and grey males.. Grey never fights... it's only the black one that is being territorial...
I currently have 47 days old 6 button quails.
I know I have 2 males and 3 females.. not sure about the other one, but it's smaller and skinner in size.. so I guess male?
I'll try to update a pic later on.
So yesterday, I put them all in bird cage while I'm cleaning their original one.
Then I...
+Edit
Oh yeah, about the problem..
The grey one (which is male) and light brown one (on the very last pic, the one on the left of the grey one) both chase dark brown one (on the very last pic, the one on the right of the grey one).
It's like light brown one comes near dark brown one and get...
I'm guessing grey one is a male one.. since he has a thin white bib (he doesn't have pink/red/rusty vent feathers..but he does crow) btw, does rusty mean brown?
I have a black one slowly changing into blue and brown(on vent). Sooo pretty
Anyway. Doesn't button quail crow like a puppy? That's...
I'm going to beach tomorrow, thursday, and come back on friday.
I currently have 38 days (5weeks and 3days) old 6 button quails.
I change them once in three days so I'm not worried about bedding while I'm gone.
I always give them plenty of food so I'm not worried about that either.
The thing...
