    New Muscovy Adoptee

I believe he is a summer hatch so a few months old ? Fully feathered out but still has that sweet duckling chirp. I went out and weighed him and he weighs 7-8lbs . Will he continue to pack on weight or should he weigh more by now? I am loving all the pics of your all scovies! So pretty!

    New Muscovy Adoptee

Hmm I am still leaning toward male too. Very sweet and friendly. He spent his first few months without any feathered friends so has been pretty independent from the flock thus far. I hope he knows he is duck. He actually seems more interested in talking to the geese so maybe once they stop...

    New Muscovy Adoptee

Got some new pictures of our buddy today.. I'm thinking a male just based on his size but of course only the mallard would join him in the pictures. Please don't mind all the hoses in the background :) Ducks rule the yard here

Thanks all! I'm going to get some pictures of him today . We have some coop expanding to do this fall/winter and then I would love to have another scovy. This was an unplanned (but welcome) adoption and our geese unexpectedly hatched two mallard ducklings this summer so it is time for more...

Hi roxyblue ! I noticed you are in Pittsburgh pa! Go Steelers! ! This spring I got two pekins and they are really friendly if you can I would def try to get two females because one male would wear out one female. What does your duck house look like?

This is my night club/pen to keep the babies safe at night. It is attached to a metal shed that is filled with bedding which so far they only use to lay eggs. I added remote controlled rope lights to do spot checks if I hear something at night. I need to get some pics of it during daylight...

    Anyone making the duck shoes?

That is a great idea about the wet suits. I was able to trace her foot and sew kind of a rough draft out of thicker fabric last night. I just wanted to see if I could figure it out. It turned good so as soon as I get some of the wet suit material I think I'll be able to make her a good pair...

Is anyone still making the duck shoes? I was doing foot spot checks and I have one duck that has a tiny sore I would like cure up before it gets worse and the shoes would really help! I'm sure i could sew something together to put on her foot but sure seems easier just to buy them !
