    Not sure this is the right thread to comment on, but I'm looking into getting a few of these hens, how dark of and egg do they lay(could someone post a pic of an egg) and how good of a layer are they?

    Oh ok, and I was actually planning on buying pullets about 4-6 months old( closer to laying eggs :)) but I was looking in a Murray McMurray catalog and they run 19.99 per bird! Is that a good price? Seems a little pricey to me!

    Ok, thanks for all the advice! I think I will go with whatever they are selling, 1st choice is marans, and then welsummers or jersey black giants or Delawares. Any idea what the going price for any if these breeds as a pullet is? :)

    I have a golden laced Wyandotte that keeps wanting to sit on her eggs. She started about a month ago and everyday I pick her up and get the eggs and put her in the coop. I will go down the next day and she's right back on more eggs. She puffs up at me but isn't aggressive. How do I break this...
