    I'm pretty sure mine turned out to be a Cream Legbar. She's not exactly perfect breed standard, but she looks more like a Legbar than not. I guess the final test will be figuring out what color egg she lays when she starts laying this fall.

    Thanks! That's what I was thinking, too, but I couldn't tell if that was a typical female color pattern or not. The light red on her neck was throwing me off. She's sure a beauty, though, and her beard looks like it's going to be amazing!

    We had a White Rock chick last year, and this one looks very different. The White Rock's face and body were a bit more rounded where this girl's is more angular. The White Rock was also a brighter yellow at first. Great breed, though. I wouldn't have minded another one!

    I agree that it might be a pullet. I had an accidental Australorp roo last year. I just went and double checked my pictures. His comb was VERY red by 6 weeks. He had the start of his wattles at 6 weeks, too. I'd say if it isn't bright red by next week you're probably safe. 😄
