Can anyone get me a link to some free chicken tractor plans? My chicks are about 2 weeks old now and I don't have anything built for them yet. I want something with nesting boxes and I don't want to start throwing it together without plans.
I just hatched some white Leghorn eggs and know where I can get free RIR roosters. I've heard that Golden Buff/Red Star's are the best brown egg layers. I have an incubator so I figure I could hatch some myself. Does it matter what sex of what breed you use? Like would a have to use a male...
I paid $45 Online for my Hovabator with no turner or fan. Tractor Supply sell the Little Giant with no fan or turner for $41.95. I have heard that the Hova-Bator is a little better though. They are about the same size and hold the same amount of eggs (50 chicken, 120 quail). If you are going...

I have another question now. How should I place the eggs in the incubator; on their sides or the same way you rest them and flip them that way?
When I get shipped eggs what side do I keep up when they are resting? Any other tips you have for my first time incubating eggs (White Leghorns)?
I saw the post a while ago but now I can't remember which side to put up, I tried the search and couldn't find anything
Do you guys and gals think that there is less of a market in most rural areas for white eggs compared to brown? I will have 2 doz. White Leghorn eggs in the incubator this week and I'm just wondering because most people put out signs that say "Fresh Brown Eggs".
Now I know to never buy Dumor feed. I'm going to my local feed store which is a lot closer than TSC anyway. Where do I find out if there is a feed mill close to me?
