Just put in my first batch of eggs today!

Just put in my first batch of silkies and EE's in the bator today.

I am concerned though. Once I put them in the temp went way down to 91.9 and the humidity rose to 47. Getting ready to go check again. Day 18 will be July 13th....hoping at least some hatch!

I am a complete newbie but have read so much on here.

if you put several eggs in the incubator that are room temperature it will make your temp go down some. Just keep a check on it and if it doesnt start going back up you may want to adjust it. Good luck with your hatch

When I first put in my room temp eggs my bator temp went down and then slowly climbed back up.

Thanks! It went back up. The temp is at 100.9 and the humidity is at 43% and it's been steady.

We put 15 Buff Cochin eggs (from Ebay) in the incubator today and I am a nervous wreck!

If we don't end up with any chicks my kids and I will be so sad!!!
(ps- We are using a Little Giant with forced air. I have all the water areas full and still have only got the humidity up to 49%, and our home has no air conditioning- I am wondering how on earth I'm gonna get the humidity up to 70-80% for those last few days!?!)

I am worried a bit myself about the humidity come the last 3 days. I live in the desert and my wells are full and the humidity right now is at 43%, which is fine now but the last 3 days I am concerned about. Guess I will put some little sponges in there too and when I have to take the other plug out then it may go up.

Hopefully we all have hatches!

I will be really sad too if we don't and I am sure my kids will be too. I am so excited about this...feel like a little kid.

I got my eggs from Ebay too.

It's going to be a long 21 days!

I set mine today too. The kids are very excited! This is our first time too. I really hope we have a good outcome. Everything looks good so far, heck I would be thrilled if even one hatches!
