hi !! so im currently incubating 12 eggs (i just started today) and im a bit concerned with the humidity . so earlier, i did a bit of research and found out that the humidity is supposed to be 50-55%. i thought i was going to avoid the problem of it going over that , because earlier the humidity was at 47% so i put the eggs in . i came back out 2 hours later and it is 56% . is that too high ?? and if yes, how do i adjust it

Hi!

Temperature should be nailed in at 99.5F

Humidity not quite so high. I do around 45% until lockdown. Humidity can be an average, so spiking high or low will be okay if it's just for a few hours.

Lockdown is typically three days, when you pull the rack to stop rotating and jack the humidity up to around 70%.

I see humidity is automatic. I'm not sure how you adjust that one but most you push buttons about 3 seconds to get a menu.

I'd suggest you buy a separate hygrometer/thermometer as incubators are rarely accurate. I have three Brinsea's and none are correct.

Humidity can be a pain in those little bubble incubators! I’ve had a successful hatch at both 10% and 80% the whole time save lockdown, temperature and turning is much more important. Aim for an average humidity in the 45-55% range, a few hours way high or low won’t crash your hatch. I actually prefer a dry hatch with quail, seems to make hatching a bit easier.
