I LOVE shopping in So. Pines. There is a killer sushi bar up there called "Sushi at the Pines". I felt like a fat rat after leaving there. I would love to come see your farm, and again likewise come see ours too!
I would like to personally thank Zahboo@BYC for donating her special needs Aracuna to Bunker Family Farms. She has a severely crossed beak but eats and drinks without a problem. She was introduced today to the flock. Oddball our BlackStar was laying and I exchanged an egg for "Sloth" (The...
YAY! Today my chickens laid their first eggs. I believe it was Red's eggs. She is the only one that is broody and fanning (squatting and puffing her wings while lifting her tail) The others are still running around doing thier own thing. But I have to say this morning was rather irritating. I...

Wow! I found a wonderful home for Red. He now lives in Garner. I am posting a new photo of our new pullet "Tweek". (Named from a character off of South Park)
Thanks for all the interest in Red. He has found a wonderful 5 acre farm home in Garner, NC. He has 30 ladies to tend to now! Best of luck Red! And congrats to the new parents John, Staci and Kimbrley Waynes!!!!!
I do not live in Guilford... I live in Cameron, NC. Honestly never even heard of Guilford till just now. I am about 20 minutes from Fayetteville, 45 from Raleigh and 8 miles out of Sanford. Hope that narrowes it down a bit!
Hes not agressive at all. He does love to peck at jewelry though! He is definately not shy, he loves to watch you. He will perch and stare. He is good to his sisters as well and does not bully in the least. I have him on hoobly.com for $10. If that is fine with you I do have a paypal...
You are so right. Today we were at lowes and were discussing increasing our flock by 4 more. I would love to have some Buff Orps or Black Stars. So many choices! But we are still very new so were trying to maintain our "Chicken Madness"!
Red is roughly 3 weeks old. Either a few days shy or a few days over. They were supposedly 1-3 days old on May 2nd. If you would like to see him in person you can reach me at 919-498-0069 or 919-842-7511.
Im so proud of my girls (ages 5 and 7), they are really getting into the chiks. Its great having the chicks. I have to take some more photos tomorrow. This weekend we are starting the coop. We have been studying all the designs online and have narrowed it down to a few that really looked great.
Here is our first flock. We thought we had all RIR pullets but we had one little boy that snuck in and he is up on the trading posting. But here is our chicks at one day and on! We will post more photos as they come.
