well we just old county folk around here, I can only speak from my own experience I have had good luck with it so does one of my friend who hatches hundreds of chicks a year to sell. maybe someone should recommend it to myth busters t v show!

get out the needle and thread, put a needle on about 12 inches of thread hold it about 3 inches above the chick if it goes in circles a girl if it goes back in forth like a straight line a roo i find this pretty reliable
