I'm not an expert on chicken diseases or treatments but penicillin, specifically ampicillin, (orally) has worked miracles for my chickens. Some may say it won't work but try telling that to my chickens that are running happily outside, even though they were almost near death last winter!
I stumbled across this today myself. Maybe this will help?

It may not be merek's but the Hypericum may still ease the nerves and work. I actually am looking where to buy it myself.
This is just me but: don't take the poor...
I don't know about other people, but based on my experience, I can tell you that vet rx sucks! It didn't help any of MY chickens. Anyway. I'm not a big chicken expert when it comes to diagnosing/treating specific diseases. AND many people may disagree with me, but ampicillin (penicillin) has...
Hi one of my hens has had a limp for about a week. I read today that Homepathic Hypericum seems to work well for some. Can anyone tell me a specific place where I can buy it in Houston? I've seen people in other posts say "health food store." But I need something more specific. I'm not even...
My game hen has been laying eggs for 16 days now. This is her first time EVER laying eggs. The very first day she started laying, she laid TWO eggs in the same day!!!
This morning she laid her tenth egg. So I was wondering, about how many eggs will she lay (in total) before she takes a break...
If anyone has one of these, please let me know!!
I really, REALLY want the MiniAdvance but it's out of my budget.
I'm looking for something that is automatic or at LEAST has a fan (but mostly automatic).
I don't really need a big one as I'm only trying to hatch just a few.
Before anyone...
My hen Tequila laid her first egg two days ago. I was wondering when she will start getting broody. I'm pretty sure she's laying fertile eggs because our rooster's been messing around with her.
I'm not sure of her exact breed but I've posted a picture and some BYC members think she's a Brown...
Cool! I really REALLY want some but I have to wait and see if my folks will give me the green light.
When are you passing by Houston?
Maybe I can convince them by then
I just hope that they're pullets!
I would like to buy some chicks that are 4 weeks, preferably 6, and up.
I'm sort of afraid of getting day old chicks because IMO I think they're way too little to be put through the stress of shipping.
That's why I prefer some a bit older, preferably pullets, but if there is a roo in the mix...
Thanks to everybody who helped figure out my roo's breed. It was agreed upon that he was an EE crossed with a Delaware:
Now I would like to see if someone can tell me the breed of my hen. Sorry that I couldn't take a clearer pic. She was moving a lot and my roo was getting in the way (almost...
