i have an bantam eggs that was due to hatch out tomorrow. i noticed about 5 hours ago it had pipped. i'm not for sure how long it has been like that but anyway now there is no movement or anything. should i help or wait?
they we're candled the day i put them in the incubator i put the clear ones in too wasn't for sure if they we're good or not. i didn't think about them getting scrambled. anyway just wanted to know if they were good or not.
i ordered some eggs from here and i got them in, i then candled them and found i had 4 clear ones. does that mean their not fertile. the seller sent me extras so either way i still got a good deal and was pleased when they reached me in good shape. none was broken which i was really surprised...
great thank you for the information. she goes to the nesting boxes a lot more than she did but she isn't staying all day yet. so i'll just wait awhile.
how can you tell when you have a broody hen. i know this sounds dumb, but i'm new to chickens. i have a hen acting kinda funny and wanted to know if i should put some eggs out.
i had a bantam egg with floating veins and just knew it was no good. we cracked it open and i was shocked. it was good and we killed that little thing. my kids we're so sad but they did get to see what a chick looked like in the shell.

am glad to hear that story. my temps had been like a yo-yo. i candled for the first time and out of 12 i know 4 are good. some i'm not for sure about and some clear. but as long as i can get 1 to hatch i'm happy.
today is the first day for me to candle. what should i look for? my temps played yo-yo the first few day way high and then way low. i have that fixed now but what should i look for now.
yes it does. i have about 12 eggs in incubator now but not for sure how many are gonna hatch and i ordered some more eggs so it will be less then 12 each hatch. they are gonna go from brooder to pen with regular bantams. most of mine are young none are over 6 months of age. i wasn't even for...
that makes me feel way better. i have now taken out my air temp thermometer. i'm just gonna focuse on my egg temp. was this a good idea or not. if i have an egg temp why do i need the air temp? also is 100 way to high for an egg temp. it is bouncing from 88 to 100 and so far that is the closest...
i'm still wondering if i'm gonna have any to survive this or not. i just don't know what i did wrong? seems like everybody else has had a good luck with this homemade incubator but it just doesn't work for me. i went and bought a little giant still air but not really happy with it either. maybe...
i'm using a water heater thermastat. thea temps. are starting to get better but still not right. i also am afraid to leave them for very long cause of my temps going haywire. i've had my eggs in since sunday and had so very high temps and low temps. now i'm trying to figure out when i should...
i'm trying the higher watt bulb now and have for most of the day. so far no different results. i'm having such a hard time with this. either it's to cold with light off or to high with light on. i jusy can't seem to find the middle. at this point the only thing that is right is the humidity...
