Yes she is. The woman told me she ordered 40 pullets and 5 roosters and only 3 turned out to be roosters. So she was glad to have my rooster and I was thrilled to have a female cream brabanter.
Thank you to everyone who responded to my rooster question. I thought it was a he too. Just hoping. However I did find a local breeder who recently discovered the breed and was happy to swap me my roo for a pullet. Here's my new girl. Hope everyone's having a terrific day![/IMG]
Thank you. I wish I could keep him too but I can't. If I can't find him a home I can return him to the place I bought him, they will give me a credit for what I paid for him but I really hope to find him a home.

I have never had this breed of chicken before. It is a Cream Brabanter, loved the Mohawk. Was suppose to be a hen but over the last couple of weeks I've been noticing that its looking more like a rooster. The hatch date was 2/12/14. I live in an area where I can't have roosters and will have to...
I so sorry you lost two of your chickens. I am on my second year of having chickens and my answer to your question is just about anything that can get to them. I have lost them to raccoons, opossums & dogs. Any type of hawks, coyotes, foxes, etc are also prime culprits. The worst part is once...
A dog just attacked one of my chickens but that goodness I got out there before it killed her. She has a limp but no obvious trauma on her leg. However, it did get her on the top of her back. Not real deep but some wounds. Should I clean it with peroxide and then treat it with iodine or should I...
Thought I'd give you all an update on Cinnamon (the Rooster). So far he has still been rather quiet and has not shown an signs of aggression. Only the typical funny chicken dance that they do when they stretch their necks out, dance around a minute and then walk off. That's not just him. I can...
Don't know that I can get away with keeping him either. I hope so, he really is beautiful, its going to depend on whether or not he gets noisy or mean. So far he's doing fine. Hopefully that will continue. Thanks again for the imput.

I'm getting worried that my hen is a rooster. The place I buy them from is only suppose to carry hens but I only started with chickens last years and I have never had a rooster and I'm not sure I can get away with having one. Both of the chickens in the top picture were hatched on Oct 25th, 2011...
