It looks just like my light brahma. Up until last week, I assumed the hatchery sent me the wrong bird because its color was so unlike any light brahma I have ever seen. it's feathers are now starting to come in and its clear that its a light brahma. It just seems that it will have a lot more...

I wouldn't worry about that. Guineas work together to kill snakes. They move much faster than you would think. You could just get a few guineas and house them with your chickens, no need to build another run around the cage.
Also I've heard that geese can be used to deter snakes.
We just drove an hour to pick up our chicks from Meyer Hatchery here in Ohio. Definitely worth the trip. Even picked up a few extras they had (the extras are Blue Andalusians).
I've had ducks and geese shipped twice before from Ideal and only lost 1.
If I had my choice I would always pick them...
Can you get a closeup shot of the legs as well? It kinda looks like a rooster at first glance.
The bantam looks like a female buff brahma, but I can't be sure without a clearer picture.

Not a stupid question. You probably just got them confused with Araucanas (the ones with ear peduncles that look like earrings, no tail feathers, blue eggs). They have a lethal gene and you end up with a lot of unhatched eggs if you mate a two-earringed Araucana with another pure...
For ducks that feed on fish (mergansers) people add pond fish food to their feed for extra protein. You can find these pellets at most TSC or farm stores. I assume you could do the same with chickens.
You could also try grinding acorns if you have some nearby oak trees.

I was just about to suggest this.
.38 Special don't kick too bad, and the ammo is cheap.
IMHO heavier guns may be more awkward to carry around, but it does reduce the recoil. Just something to think about.
Remember that guns don't really lose their value much. If you purchase one...
A SIG Mosquito is a very nice gun. You can usually find them new under $500.
We have one with a sight and it is very accurate.
Note: If you use a gun for self defense and plan on keeping it loaded for extended periods - get a revolver. If you leave semi-autos with rounds in the clip for too...

It's not hard to find pictures of the adult birds..There are several of us who have and sell them....I've got pictures of mine posted various places on the forum..mine are on page 2 of the wyandotte thread. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=279470
Cool. I have...
I will be ordering BLRW from Meyer as well this year. I believe this is one of the first years they are offering them, so it may be hard to find a picture of an adult bird if that's what your looking for.
I agree with Steve on the colors though.
I've heard to get rid of horse flies you just leave out an open jar of mayonnaise. The flies try and eat the mayo and burrow in and can't get back out.
I haven't tired this because horse flies aren't too bad of a problem in my area, but I thought I would mention in case someone wanted to try it...
