How long do you have to wait for the results? My friends chicken just died this morning so maybe she still has it. Maybe she'll get one if I suggest it.
I didn't have a necropsy done. I can't afford one. My vet did tell me they do free necropcies in Pullman but that's 2.5 hours away from me and my car is too old for that. However, my first bird started with paralyzed feet, that then went to it's legs (one leg splayed forward, one splayed back)...
Well, it's a long story, but the bare bones is: I got 3 new chickens that I quarantined but through inexperience and in hindsight, poor judgment, they ended up close enough to my old flock to expose them to it. I don't know if this is the kind of thing that people get flamed for, but I feel sick...
I updated my OP. She is so much worse today. Dragging her leg as she hobbled. Both feet curled up.
What in the world is wrong?? I don't know what to do.

I'm so sorry. How long did all of that take? How long from limping onset to sneezing? The reason I noticed the limping is because I have been working on mixing all of my chickens together the last 2 days. She didn't seem to be limping the day before yesterday (it had gone away since...
After researching a bit, I do think it's curly toe paralysis and/or vitamin deficiency. (Thank you Chickens Are Sweet-- that really helped!) As long as that can occur in 6 mo old chickens. They did not smell good when i got them. Like gross feed lot/corn ish type smell and I'm sure it's from...
I got 3 new chickens 2 weeks ago (cochins) and one of them was walking kinda funny when I got them. I was torn about even bringing her home because I didn't want a sick chicken but where I got them from was pretty gross. I would have taken them all if I could have. Plus the lady gave me the...
My sweetest little D'Anver hen, Rosemary, has been laying since the end of August. Pretty much an egg every day. Last week I found her in the nest box and she puffed up at me and squawked, so I knew she got gotten broody. I took her out and all the eggs out, including the 'dummy' egg and that...
...this buff got suddenly huge (it's been runty and small since it got pasty butt at 5 days), scraggly looking, jumping on my one laying hen and *someone* is attempting some sort of crow in the morning but I haven't been able to get out there in time to see who it is. I didn't get good comb...

I would *love* to see pictures!! Trying to picture how a pantyliner would work.
I can't figure out how to multi-quote...
danischi24~ The guy I got him from said there were mixes of D'Anvers, Seabrights, and quail, so I just assumed Seabright mix. Good to know what he really is...

Get a large rabbit cage to keep him in, lock the cat up when you let him out and get a chicken diaper. the more he is handled the easier he'll be!
Alrighty! I've got a rabbit cage already. Guess I'll be diaper shopping today. lol
(My husband is going to kill me, lol)
So he would get friendlier as a house chicken? He's pretty terrified of my kids and I. More than any of the other birds.
Oh, and I have a cat, who already tried to go for him once because he is so small. Maybe I'll just separate him for now, and then figure out what to do.
I got this little seabright mix when I got all of my chicks a few months ago. He is so so tiny, I think the mix was with quail. One of his wings never feathered out. He's pretty sad when he tries to fly. And lately I've noticed all the other chickens chasing him and picking on him. He isn't...
It is one of the ones pictured. I'm seriously confusing myself, lol.
Here are two better (hopefully) pictures of the two that I'm not 100% sure about.
Illia~ The bottom picture here is the same one in the second to last photo in my original post.
I got 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes in early June as day old chicks. These two have always been rowdy and scardy and lately are fighting each other and chasing everyone around.
I'm sorry, I've gotten confused on which is which. Please look at the pictures in post #5 instead of these.

The grate squares are 1"x1". I'll just keep bringing them in... it will really only be a little bit before the whole thing is set up the way I want.

raccoon latrine????
Yeah. They poop in communal spots over and over. This house/yard was empty for about 9 months so it was prime territory for a raccoon crapper, lol. At least it's all in the same area, not randomly all over the yard like a dog (that's what I kept telling myself as I...
