There is not a electic fence that your going to get a hold of that will keep a bear out. Get rid of the bear. A black bear killed a pig in a field in VA last week. That bear is now dead
Crested are always harder to tell. But the blue based one looks like a cockerel. The lighter one a pullet. The none crested both look like cockerels. I do raise them, but I would wait intill seven weeks before making a real judgment.
To late for this.... But you should of called animal control after you killed it, and saved the dead chicken. Think that's part of the law, and with screeching witness with a kid....really should of called the cops.
I'm seeing a lot of mixes being sold as pure. People stealing pictures (including of my rooster). People claiming to have a imported line other then Greenfire...
It's not a swedish flower hen chick. No hatchery has them, at all. And no TSC will have then. It's a poor quality polish from a hatchery. A lot them do not have correct comb type
This is a rescue. It's a 12/29 hatch. The beak has already been trimmed, I don't have any pics of it butt [/IMG]because there are no feathers, at all. It's tail is naked. It was sold to me as a roo but looks pretty henish to me! What do you guys think?
Yes. I have had chicks start with a little dark color on there legs but they out grow it. But it's her body type that really doesn't seem incorrect. The molted color seems off also. I can't get the pic and bigger on this iPhone, what's her comb type? I would not use her because she is of unknow...
I agree with ki4got the dry method works best. I haven't done shipped eggs but I have had great hatches with my own eggs. I do know some of my customers have had early death because of keeping to high of a humidity. I'm not as anal about lockdown, a pull chicks as they fluff and just mist as I do.
Can you post pictures of the ducks? Hatcheries make mistakes. And ducks can be hard to sex at this age. Do they both quack? Or does one sound raspy? I would take the calcium out, where is plenty in there feed. They don't need any added intill they lay. I would add brewers yeast, which if they...
I would not breed her either. I think most of us stick to yellow legs, orange eyes and "flowers". We have no SOP but there are guild lines I find helpful.
Well my mother in law will not eat my eggs. Because she found a blood spot. So all my eggs are gross now. Oh and a blood spot means there fertilized. And that's gross, she she buys them from a friend of hers with about 300 production reds, which are still fertilized! Lol I just never told her!
I'd guess hatchery quality runner. Campbell's are small ducks, and should not weigh over 4lbs at full growth. Also no hatchery has white Campbell. There pretty rare.
