A bit about me and my hens! We all live in the wonderful county of Hampshire in the UK. I have always wanted hens but didn't have the space, until the summer of 2009, when we moved to the countryside. With more space in the garden I started to plan the arrangement. 1st I worked on the vegetable...

My girls are very friendly and there would be welded wire between...

I'm planing on hatching some eggs this spring with one of my broody hens. It's the first time for us both! I plan to build an outdoor fully enclosed run with a rabbit hutch for starting things off. The hutch is 4ftx1.5ft and the run will be 2mx1.5m. I plan on getting 6 eggs of which probably not...

    Pea Gravel for Run

Quote: Hi Jettgirl24, yes that's the stuff! it is very useful, I have about 9 inches deep, that means they can scratch down without reaching the membrane. It also keeps their feet clean, I do have a grassed area that I let them free range on, which makes them dirty, however, some time in the...

    Pea Gravel for Run

I use pea gravel for outside run, i find it very good. to clean it i hose it down and rake it! I have a membrane weed base which stops the dirt from coming through but allows it to drain away. It never smells as the poo just washes away. I would put a dust bath in as my hens really enjoyed it...

Hi, Yes I meditate and have been doing so for about 2 years. I find it really helps clear all the clutter in my mind and just having a break from the everyday life really helps. One thing I must mention is, it's different for everyone, no 2 experiences are the same. Meditation is dedication...
