Ok, I will put her back on layers pellets. I read somewhere that you should just read corn when they've prolapsed - guess that was wrong. I'll get some Calcium Citrate. It's out again this morning so I will bathe it again and put some oil on it. Thank you for all the advice :-)
She's one and yes, this is the first time she has prolapsed. I feed her layers pellets and grit and oyster shell. At the moment though I'm just feeding her corn to discourage laying and I've separated her from the other hens.
It's come out again tonight. I've given her some Metacam again...
It's the dog one. 1.5mg. I've given her the dose that I was given for my other hen and pushed the prolapse in and she did then keep it in. She kept the prolapse in for most of the day after and then towards evening today it was out again and covered in poop. I've bathed her and got as much...
Hello there, please could I have some help?
Does anyone know the correct dosage for a hen that weighs 345 grams? I already have the Metacam for another hen who had a prolapse (which worked) but that hen was much lighter?
Hi there,
I recently lost one of my two hens so have bought four new pullets to keep the remaining hen company. The problem obviously is that the pullets are on growers. I'm keeping them separately at the moment in sight of each other but introducing them for a short time every day. Do I...

There's always oyster shell in a little dish for her. No, her and her mate have an exo terra vivarium and I've not changed anything around. It's a mystery!
Hi there,
Just a little worried about my 9 month old button hen. She's not laid for about a month now after laying daily throughout and also she doesn't seem interested in mealworms anymore. Apart from that she seems her normal self. I'm not worried about the lack of eggs just about her...
They are tiny and one is greenish that I can make out but there are only 3 at the most. Also they're looking very sticky from the egg yolk I've been trying to give them - will that be a problem?
Thank you so much for replying by the way x
Really worried about my two button quail chicks who are coming up to 48 hours old. They're drinking but don't seem to be eating at all. I've ground their crumb up and keep tapping my finger on it but they just aren't interested. In desperation I keep putting some egg yolk to their beaks but...
