She is around 3yrs old. She lives on a large, free range farm so it's quite possible she may have eaten something bad. We're in scotland UK. My friend is bringing her to me so I can carry on treating as she doesnt have time to monitor her. Ill check her over for mites.Would it be worthwhile...
**Not my chicken **
Looking for advice for the owner. Suddenly unable to walk, raspy breathing and vision not good. No signs of mucous in eyes or nostrils. Can only find food when sprinkled right in front of her but her head turns as she's pecking for it and she misses. Liquids given frequently...
Hi,
I had duck eggs shipped which must have been used as a football in the Post! Only one egg has made it and lockdown is Tuesday. I left all eggs point side down prior to incubating but still the air sac is wonky. So, come lockdown, what is the best side to have the egg on? Im also worried...
Hi thank you.
She's been quarantined already. Had her wormed on flubenvet and she's free of lice. The problem is she's not eating. I've had to syringe feed her for the last 24hrs so I dont think putting her back with them will solve anything.
I just got a new polish hen. As soon as she went in to the shed with my polish flock she hid or roosted high. She has now stopped eating and drinking. None of my birds are bullying her it just seems she's scared stiff! Is it possible for her to be depressed?
I've syringe fed her egg yolk...
Hi, my little two week old chick, Pumpkin is apparently a silkie. I know she's not 100% silkie. I'm not actually sure if she has any silkie at all? The breeder says her parents are a chocolate silkie hen and a white silkie roo. But I dont get the lacing.
His other breeds are RIR's, & lavender...
Yes he/ she is gorgeous and will be staying with me. Id worry if I let it go. The seller has RIR's
Lavender Pekin, silkies and the daddy is a white silkie.
I still can't work out the mix?? I'm beginning to think he doesn't know AT ALL what
Breeds he has.
I figured that when I asked the guy questions. I actually bought the little bird to keep my single hatched, sizzle chick company. Its a little disappointing cause I may need to rehome the bird now that I know it's not a silkie. Not what I wanted to do really.
I'm a little confused on the colour too. I was told the parents are 'chocolate/gold silkies to white cockerel which gives you black'. But the chick has a pattern of white on the wings. Dont get me wrong, its a beautiful little bird but I feel a slightly disappointed.
Hi
I bought this 2week old chick last week. Was told its a Silkie. Was also told it's most likely female due to not having a 'tuft' on its head. The chick only has four toes though and I thought slikie's had 5? It has new feathers coming through on its feet.
I'm not convinced its a silkie. :-/...
