Kits in the cold! Help, please!

I wondered if that was a possibility - I didn't know how the doe would react for me taking them and then bringing them back. If she would reject them, ignore them, etc. I believe I will have to try that - thank you for the idea!

Kits in the cold! Help, please!

Looking for some advice on keeping newborn kits thriving in the winter - we don't live anywhere too cold, but when you're used to the heat, cold is cold. So don't laugh when you see that we live in South Carolina One of my does just had a litter last night and we ended up losing a handful and...

    Getting Meat Rabbits

We greatly enjoy our NZ Whites, Californian and the NZ/Cali crosses we get from them. They have good size, they are sturdy and have an appealing amount of meat on them. From our experience, I would suggest them to you

    Getting Meat Rabbits

DO IT! We have been raising meat rabbits for a short while and love it compared to raising meat chickens which we have done in the past. We have a breeding trio of two NZ does and a Cali buck. They are easy keepers, which is a plus. They are easy to grow, process and cook. The meat is great- we...

We have a pair of guineas and those little boogers eat everything! We are a bit worried how they will do with our Spring garden since they literally ate through the majority of our sweet potatoes and have been munching on our collards this past week DH refuses to put a fence around the garden...

    guineas and cold weather

2 degrees!? Heck and I've been worried about ours in 20 degree weather, haha! Mine refuse to roost when it is cold, they instead huddle together behind some holly bushes that we have lining our home in the back yard... crazy birds

Stay @ Home/Work from Home Moms- Advice?

Working mom, here, desperately looking to turn SAHM/WFHM... Please share your advice & wisdom, what do you do for extra income? Any suggestions as to how you got to where you are? I'm in a little bit of a "I'm never going to get there but hate where I am" funk... DH is supportive of the idea...

    Aggressive male pot belly

I would agree with getting him neutered. Treats will get you on his good side, but being in a new place he is probably a little more on edge to begin with. If he is aggressive towards you and you back down, he is ultimately showing his dominance in his "new herd" and more likely than not views...

    Do you have a cat?

Can't hate on the originality! We went to Bilo on July 4th and heard a little screaming meow... coming from the car next to us. Naturally it was wedged up in the person's engine & stuck as all get out. My DH, had to get up under this random car and dig the poor babe out! I might add, he thinks...

Breeding Rabbits/Dominance - Advice for Newbies, please!

He will not be near her once she kindles, he has a little batchelor pad that will be waiting for him when the time comes for that I took both does, individually of course, to him. And my older doe still was showing dominance towards him He tried mounting her and then they were kind of going...

    Possum threat

We have a good share of possums, too - and also use the live traps. We are typically the most successful with catching them on wet canned cat food and/or meat scraps from the kitchen. Good luck! AND

    Housing Question!

Good to know about the laying! Other than your black spanish being trouble makers, which of the breeds you still have seem to be your favorite, and why?

    Housing Question!

Awesome! And thank you! How about their laying? Do you know if they will lay in the same designated area such as a chicken? I feel like from what I've read, they will be very laid back for the most part
