hi All--
one of our roos "Big Chuck" has had swollen & red spots on his feet for the past few days. His toes are swollen too. I took some pictures after soaking them for about 10 mins or so in a hot water solution with salt. I have read all about bumblefoot- but I can not find any black or...
wow! so nice to see some ND action on the board
I am up near Mayville (between Fargo and Grand Forks) and I sell eggs- in fact right now I am OVERRUN! All of our spring chicks from last year are finally laying regularly so we are getting between 6-12 eggs a day. Lots of fun, but we can't keep...
Our family started a blog this year following all our farm happenings... mostly about our chickens and goats

I treat my birds using the freeze dried version of mealworm.
I do as well- I buy the tub of "hen treats" (they are dead- so not worried here!)
I don't have an answer for ya- but I would like to know this as well! I have 2 groups of chicks that are about 2-3 weeks apart in age and I am ready to put them together, but not sure how to do it.

I have 33 chicks and only a few of them are "friendly", and that has come after weeks and many, many hours of food bribery!!!! I think patience and persistence are the keys here, and hopefully after time they will be the cuddly chickens we all desire! (I keep telling myself that...
I have had my silkies together with my EE's since they were both a couple days old and I haven't had any problems... I think it is funny that the silkies are 2 to 3 times smaller than the EE's, but they don't seem to realize it
he IS handsome!!!! We have 33 chicks and I have one that we identified as a roo from the beginning! He doesn't crow yet, but he definitely thinks he is in charge! HA!!! It is so funny watching their personalities Now as for the rest of the flock... time will only tell how many turn out to be...
