First picture is of the rooster (crested) and you can see some of the hens behind him. The second 2 pictures are the chicks, notice the head poof (for lack of a better word). Some also have darker legs and beaks. To my knowledge they are pure swedish. What do you think?
Does anyone have pictures of chicks that are crested for Swedish Flower Hens? I just hatched 6 and five are certainly going to be crested but am hoping they aren't showing some crossing from another breed.
The rooster is crested. I will post pictures later today, just hoping to get some...
Following this thread.
While I don't have any of the crosses you have mentioned, I do have a couple of hens that were from an Ayam Cemani roo and a CCL. They are crested, solid black, and lay green eggs.
Offering some hatching eggs in Middle Tennessee if interested. I have Ayam Cemani and Swedish Flower Hen. I have very limited quantities of both (3 ayam cemani hens and 1 swedish flower hen). I have a dozen in an incubator right now and 10 are showing growth. The hens are 7 months old. Asking...
I don't know about how you can get the credentials online but my daughter is a certified vet tech and makes about $10 or $11/hour and has been doing it for a couple years. Seems to me it's a waste of education for a low paying occupation. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
Because the sign says "Coming Soon: Tyson Chicken Cloning Facility". It's not very large and according to the FDA it hasn't been accomplished yet. My guess is it is a research facility.
So a few miles from my house there has been a lot of work being done to clear a lot and begin construction on some large facility. Every time we drive by wondering what they are building...until today.
So Tyson is building a chicken cloning facility. I have like 1,000 questions about this but...
Thanks, that is a wealth of information! I will try most of those with the exception of the vet, just not my thing. He actually stood up for a while but then back down and out again. I got him to take several sips of water while awake and trying to keep him hydrated.
So my polish roo has had concussions before from fighting and I have had a polish hen run into a wall and knock herself out once, but this time I have a roo that ran into the closed coop door last night and knocked himself out. He was out for about 5-10 minutes before standing up punch drunk. I...
Local guy has this listed for sale. Wondering if anyone has any information on them. From my quick search it appears that it is heated using light bulbs which seems unusual for a retail incubator.
Brand is Floral Arts. Inc.
Way too young to get an idea of what they will look like but I will try and get some pictures today. There are basically 3 different color patterns emerging (they are only a week old) and there was a fourth color but there was only one chick and it died I am guessing from being smothered by the...
Actually with the exception of the one incident in the pool mine have no issues with their sight. Even when they get wet in the rain they just look like little Rod Stewart chickens running around but I don't worry about their ability to see.
So I started with a white crested black polish rooster and a red polish hen, purely by happenstance. The offspring are beautiful with a rooster as my avatar.
The second generation were then bred and the chicks hatched Easter weekend. I am amazed at the variety of colors in this chicks at this...
Had to laugh when I read this...sorry. Have you thought of maybe just a hair tie that isn't to tight?
Funny story, last summer my polish roo was strutting around near the pool as I cleaned it. The hens like to catch the various bugs/spiders I throw out of the water each morning. Anyway, he was...
