Sorry to hear your little one is having the same issue! It’s so strange, it’s almost the same circumstance. My blue Swedish stopped having any symptoms after about a week. I would make sure she is still eating and drinking even if it’s taking her longer. I would also make all their food into...
Hello! My 6 month Cayuga has recently started twitching her wings earlier today. She started laying last week and it’s been in the mid 70’s. I don’t know why she has started doing this and I would also like to know if this indicates anything wrong. Thanks so much!
Here is a video of when she...
I am inclined to believe that they are all girls as they all quack and do it quite loudly at times, even my Cayuga who also likes to do some honk like quacks.
Oh ok. Just to clarify, I don’t mean she is quacking because they all quack, and they can get quite loud, I mean whenever she first sees me outside almost always she’ll run up and do one or two very loud honk like noises. I don’t know if that changes anything, but I felt I should clarify that.
This may be really annoying but personally I do like updates. If any of y’all were wondering, all three of my ducks including the blue Swedish are alive, healthy and well. They are around 2 months old currently and are quite content! Here’s a picture of her and the welsh harlequin ‘bobbing’ for...
Hi! I have 3 2 month old ducks and the Cayuga quacks/honks really, really loudly whenever I go outside and she sees me, why is this? She is quite friendly and I don’t think it’s out of fear, many times she does it whilst running up to me. I am not particularly annoyed by the behavior it’s just...
Sorry, I didn’t know the full story, I read your other thread and that makes more sense now. I didn’t know that they were actually living together in the wild and you hadn’t taken them in to brood. If they are staying 100% wild I agree with Isaac, you don’t need to feed them. I’d stay the angel...
Hello all! I recently found this thread and I thought it would be cool to talk to you all about all things rabbits on this thread! I thought I’d share a brief history of my life with rabbits. I have had rabbits for the better part of 10 years. I originally got two rabbits, Houdini a black mini...
I don’t think my links work so if you’d like to, just go to the three lines in the top left corner, go to forums, scroll all the way down to geese or a bit lower to ornamental waterfowl, click on them, click on the blue button ‘post thread’ and you’re set. You may know all ready how to do this...
Also, if you’d like you can ask your question again in either the geese forum-https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/geese.47/
Or the ornamental forum-https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/ornamental-fowl-swans-etc.46/post-thread
You might get more answers that way! Good wishes!
@Gray Farms and @mothergoose keep Egyptians, maybe they can help you! Btw, if you have pics, I would LOVE to see them, I think goslings are so so so adorable!
wild ones definitely can get it but they normally die off quickly, I assume it would be genetic for them though(they have good diet and exercise). So I’d assume it’s genetic most likely. Here’s an article-

That doesn’t seem like the feed caused it. 15% is quite low more so for domestic goslings I think(I am not as gosling expert though especially on wild/ornamental breeds). I am not sure about % for wild ones though. Maybe it’s genetic? I have heard that some people think that. I haven’t heard...
I would also recommend to not call an end to it all just yet. If you can you could try taking her to an avain vet or calling some to ask if they could give you any advice. I haven’t delt with cancers so I am not exactly sure on the protocol. You could try bringing her inside full time for now. I...
could you put the ingredients of the papaw ointment? That could be helpful in figuring out if it could be suitable. I agree with @Wyorp Rock try flushing it with a hand mixed saline solution at least once a day! Best of luck!
