    Guinea question for your experts!

I am a backyard chicken owner who just bought an old farmhouse on 26 acres! My question, we will not be moving over there for another year or so, but was curious if I could go ahead and get a few guineas. How self sufficent are they? I have heard that they will roost in trees, etc.. and a coop...

Calling all experienced gardners! Can you tell me what is happening to

Thank you all for the information!! "If I was you I would also pull off some of the fruits so the tree can work on maturing the fruit. The tree sounds a little young for so much production" I have had one branch break on its own from being too heavy. I guess I need to do just that!!

my necterine fruit? I planted this tree last year and it is loaded this year, but I am having issues with something killing the new fruit. Here are a few pics. If you can give me some direction how to treat I would soooo appreciate it. I did spray some organice insectide, but that must have been...

what is pinless peakers and what does it really do

Blu Kote is an antiseptic spray for wounds or our case, pecked skin. I use it to help keep the areas clean. I also use the peepers and love them. Here is a pic of my girls with theirs on.

    peepers

For me, I am keeping mine on my three offenders permanently. I made a great deal of effort to avoid this having to happen, Blu Kote, separation, weeks before I resorted to the peepers. The peepers are keepers!!

    Hot weather treats!

Last summer I would treat my hens to some frozen grapes and bananas to help keep them cool. This year I discovered a new treat for them. I freeze a whole head of iceberg lettuce. This type of lettuce is predominately water anyway. They loved it an ate the whole thing. It was not super hot here...

    Feather picking and eating

Okay, here are my thoughts. I have the same problem with three particular culprits, two which are RIR supposedly a horrible breed for pecking. I read all about mites, protein issues, crowding, etc....but it is just plain meaness and bullying. Get pinless peepers, worth every cent. I had one hen...

    Pinless Peepers Work!

It really has been a blessing. Those three sporting the shades are the only ones who have them. They were mangling the other five terribly. They have been on not quite a week and it took a fews days I would say for the peepers to be "ignored". Also, the bloodied hens are recovering nicely...

Quote: I held the chicken and my husband just pushed them apart and clicked into their nostrils. They are having no issues with them at all.

    Pinless Peepers Work!

I know it looks like my girls are watching a 3D movie, but these suckers have helped immensely! I have witnessed no more pecking, picking and bullying in the past few days. It looks like my one hen is on the mend. I am so grateful for these ugly little blinders. LOL!!

    Breaking my Brood

I removed all eggs immediately and placed her in a cage. She was broken in three days and took about a week to start laying again.

I put her in chicken jail, but she's really upset

Quote: Oh really, I might just do that. I have those pinless peepers, but have not used them. I started reading horror stories about them.
