No other geese from this stock are having similar problems. They have already been fully developed and carrying their wings fine for several months. This just came on and it is only in one of the pair I own. It's not angel wing.
Thank you for the replies. Yes, they are juvenile Buff Toulouse. Their primary feathers have been in since August though. I was thinking wasting muscle for some reason or another. I will put them on a different diet. If I tape them up and it is muscle development will that not just be...
My 5 month old toulouse has wings that are drooping. He can flap them and tuck them in place for s moment but otherwise they hang but the tips he keeps up. No blood feathers coming in and he is fully feathered. It is not angel wing. When he does tuck them they look normal. Any ideas? What...
Hello,
I am hoping to find hatching eggs from exhibition quality lines. I thought about purchasing a couple goslings from holdereads but the min to ship is 4 and I can't afford 4 show quality goslings from them. I fully understand that shipping eggs may reduce the chances of hatching...
I just wanted to say how much my son and I enjoy reading this thread! It's really the only one we religiously follow anymore! Isaac loves seeing all the pictures and getting tips on what to look for on show quality. I personally LOVE all the genetics discussions! Favorite class in college when...

Hackle and saddle are too light, Wing Bow and wing bay is nearly absent, legs are too long, and tail is too short. You could enter him in a show but results would not likely be positive.
So, not to sound stupid, but my son and I are trying to follow. We understand and see what you mean...
Here is a picture of my sons 3 OEGB hens sunbathing. The blue hen and the silver duckwing hen are the two he took to fair. The spangled stayed home. She is getting pretty old and Isaac didn't want to stress her out.

I prefer to allow everyone thier own decision about joining the breed club based on goals and how they feel about the district director and officers. It makes a big difference when they reach out to you...
So how is...

That is great, he is off to good start, and got his feet wet with showing. I am glad he had a good time, our local fair often has 100+ OE then a multitude of other birds last year it was 400+ birds total its great for teh kids to get warmed up for the show season.
He had a lot of fun...
So my son took 2 of his hens to the county fair. There were only 5 old english there but he had the best 2! Lol! He also had the only Indian Runner ducks, the only Toulouse goose, and the only Seramas. He has lots of ribbons now! On the bright side, the judge told everyone that our county has...

He is very excited! He said "that is soo cool" and also "thank you, thank you, thank you". Now he is so excited for the show he actually is okay with school starting so that october comes sooner! Ha ha!
You could try craigslist in the farm section. If you don't find any for sale post a wanted ad there. Also try hoobly.com I have a friend who posts her ducks for sale there quite often. We live in Ohio otherwise I would tell you to contact her!

We were told a lot of negative things about the breed when we got our first hen and have found them to be all false. That hen, a little spangled OEGB, sits on his shoulder every night while he feeds the animals. Its absolutely hysterical! We love our other two hens as well. Very...

We are allowed to have roosters and hens. We are in farm country! I would appreciate the help in getting him started. We have been having an awful time trying to find anything w/o paying $70 for shipping and the risk in that is stressful after putting the money into it. That's why we...
