Hello! and welcome to the OEGB thread.

Wayne,
If done with care you can dub in any weather.. But if you intend to dub and just put right back in teh pen try for no more than 90 preferably 85.
Here is one of my "tricks" that helps with bleeding and really makes a difference in hot weather.

Get a wide mouth cup or small bucket (1-2 quarts); I really prefer the bucket, fill 1/2 with ice then top off with cool water. Allow the water to sit for 5 minutes to good and cool. hold teh bird upside down with all but the last 1/4 inch of comb in teh water for 4 seconds to a minute comb will start to turn white, this will restrict blood flow and cool body temp. Hold firmly by the comb while trimming wattles and earlobes. Quickly Dip head in water to remove blood this will re-cool the comb you may want to dip 2-3 times. Then cut the comb dip in water to remove blood this will let you look at the dub job and touch up some if needed. I place them in a banatm show coop in a cool spot for 10 minutes and allow all bleeding to stop then you can re-inspect and turn teh bird loose or isolate your choice.

I have done this in 110+ heat with no issues.

Yea, Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

No problem,
I prefer to allow everyone thier own decision about joining the breed club based on goals and how they feel about the district director and officers. It makes a big difference when they reach out to you...

So how is everyone crop of birds this year?

Here is the Brassy back cockrell I have been holding back, I love how even his color is.

And feel like I made some headway on the Opal body and feather quality.

So all in all I think it was a good year, tough but good.

Beautiful!

Pearl and Pablo, my breeding pair of porcelains. Pablo is a porcelain, not sure about Pearl.. How old do you think Pearl is? By looking at her comb I would guess 3 months. I'm no expert though.

Wanted to share with you the little trio we got our daughter this past week. Not sure if you can see them all very well. We have been looking for /BBRed eggs and a person offered us this trio for what I thought was a fair price. What do you guys think?
