    Eye Issue, Please Help!

She is a buff orpington and is an average size. I'm guessing 4 to 6 pounds. I have plenty of the Baytril. It's kind of old but I'm sure it still works. Could i crush it up, soak a bite of bread and get it in her that way?

2 baby chicks were born sometime today, not sure exactly when. 1 is walking around fine and the other one is walking and falling over. Pretty much just wanting to sit. Is this normal for a just hatched chick?

    Second year/Double Broody!

This is our second time with a broody chicken. Last time our hen, Daisy, hatched 3 babies, one of which was the poor little chick that I tried to save for months. It had a mysterious, horrible foot problem, that I could never heal. I tried EVERYTHING. Same hen started sitting in random...

My Rooster looks sick, and hen is acting strange...

Just a guess on the hen that maybe she is broody?? They will sit in the nest box quite a bit with no eggs underneath. As for the rooster, it sounds like he got attacked by something. Is he eating and drinking ok and good idea bringing him to a warmer place!

    Weight loss after dog attack.

So in a previous post I had posted that our 1 year old hen got attacked by a dog. We took her to the vet, they cleaned her up, stitched her up and gave antibiotics. We kept her separated in a smaller coop within the main coop for about 2 weeks. Wow, did she loose alot of weight! She is back...

Looks Like My hen is yawning?:(

I'm relatively new to chicken keeping too and a couple of hens and my rooster would do that every so often and it scared me too! In my case, they were only adjusting their crop. Just feel their crop in the morning and make sure it's emptying. As long as they are acting fine in every other...

It finally happened to us. Dog attack! ** graphic pic**

Our neighbor came to the door to nicely let us know that their dog got out and killed one of our chickens. I got dressed and went outside so they could show me where the body was and it was gone! Quite a few feather trails later and we found her trying to hide in a pile of dead weeds with...

My chickens are losing a ton of feathers too. There are feathers all over the coop and when they fluff up or move, feathers come off. Pretty sure that it's molt time.

    Can chicks get constipated?

Maybe A little sugar water? But you definitely need to keep it warm ! Pretty important for a chick. No more forgetting!! Was it's poo really hard or was it straining? What have you been feeding it?
