Thank You! I had wondered if she could have been a silkie mix herself. Her face has a bit of that look with the dark skin. Her two chicks, the last picture is them that I took today, both seem to be getting the little tuft on the head. The feathers are just coming in, but now that I am looking...
She just showed up at my house one day. I never found which neighbor she came from so I kept her. I had her in with a silkie roo (not sure of his color- mostly white with some brown patches.) and she hatched to chicks a few weeks ago. Body wise they seem to take after her just have the silkie...
There is NO way this was not a Roo! I know a Roo when I see one. That picture did make him look like it could be a pullet since his head was turned. Here is another picture, he is young here the comb got even bigger as he got older and it is not flat it is a big round lump. The other chick that...
His head is angled down and he is young. He had a silkie comb that was a bit too red, rather than the nice dark blue/black. WFBS is a White Faced black Spanish. Actually this roo's father is the son of the two chickens in my picture. The WFBS is the black hen with white lobes and face. The...
Anyone know what color this would be considered? This was a roo I hatched out awhile back. The mother was a white silkie and the father was a WFBS/OEGB mix.
I didn't know what to think when I ended up with my first naked neck hen. So ugly she was cute.. lol I put her in with a Roo that looks like a WFBS, but is a WFBS/OEGB/Silkie mix. The two in my corner picture are his grandparents. I do not know if the NN hen is a hybrid or has two NN parents...
If it isn't a bad leak I would try FlexSeal. It is the as seen on tv spray. Not sure where you are but you can get it at most places that carry as seen on tv products. I get it at walgreens down here. It is a spray so it is easy to get in small cracks without ripping apart.
Yeah I have been leaning towards a roo myself. they are silkie/WFBS mixes. I just haven't had a red single comb girl from the cross yet. the girls have so far had silkie combs or the last one thats in these 3 has a black single comb. I know hens on the wfbs side have large red combs and waddles...
I have 3 about 11 weeks. one I know is a girl, one I know is a roo (large RED comb and waddles) and the 3rd I am not sure. It has a comb and waddles but are not as large as the one I know is a roo and they are more pink.
This I know is Roo..
This one I am not sure.. what am I girl or boy???
Being mixed breed and parents are different colors I would say they would not be considered a "true" any regular color. I have some that are mixed with silkies and they all 4 turned out different. I was fun to watch because just when I thought I had the color they would finally be they would...

Exactly!!!
Most of the things mentioned by the OP message about the filly has more to do with being a young filly than just being arab. Babies are silly and do silly things in all breeds. Horses are herd animals and most do not like to be alone, but if they are kept alone when you...
I have a pair that just showed up from a neighor that moved, they were young. Shortly after they came he started crowing and then she started laying. I left them free ranging and they sleep in a high tree at night. She lays her eggs in my spare stall and even if I change the horses around she...
Mine showed up when she was almost ready to lay. I do not think she ever had anyone pick her up or anything. I have not tried to pick them up. Her and her mate are free range and sleep in a tree at night, she has a nest in a spare stall. Her son and his mate and the grandkids are in a pen. They...
I have one wfbsb that showed up with a oegb from a neighbor that moved and left them (they were young). I am sure that they got them from the local feed store that gets them from one of the hatcheries. (Not sure about him), but She looks pure to me. I love her and the white lobes! That is them...
Yes all four have dark feet so far. They keep changing so much, I know that their father changed up until he molted. the father and grandfather both have a redish tint to their feet. Here is a few pictures of the one silkie mix roo from when he first hatched til now.
This is all four of them...
