babymakes5, our 5-year-old DD has been trying to name all of ours. "That one is Chickie. And that one is Love. And that one is Fluffy. And that one... is... um, Belle. And that one is Ariel..." I wonder how manly they will feel if any of them are boys. So glad you are enjoying your babies...
For those of you that use, or would like to use water wigglers / water snakes in your incubators! I'm not sure if they will be at all local Dollar Trees, but ours (Alpine Ave in Grand Rapids) had a ton. Of course they were kid show themed... so we ended up with a few Finding Nemos and a few...
So true, dancingbear! Thanks! After the last candling I ended up with 9 out of 11 EE eggs that were still developing and went to hatch.
Woke up this morning to find #5 and #6 hatched!
#5 (is alive! - old movie reference)
#6
Even if the other three don't hatch now, I am very pleased with...
Baby #4 is out! #5 is pipped, and #6 punched a big crack into the wrong side of his egg. Dunno if he'll make it out or not.
Here's #4.... and I think this is one of the coolest hatching photos I've gotten yet.
Thanks everyone. He's drying off nicely and there are two more pipped eggs now. Our youngest DD actually stayed up very late last night and got to watch #1 hatch out completely. She was right back at the incubator this morning and ran over to shout at me about the new pips. I was like, all...
Thank you, dancingbear!
I've been busy busy past few days. I'm trying to get back to everyone's emails as I'm able.
On the exciting end of things... I think its going to be success for the Old Drawer bator this time around! The 30th was their due date and just before midnight we had our...

A donut loving chicken... Yum yum! They keep calling it a boy... but by the looks of that tail, it's a girl. Production Leghorn?
Our Rooster is one busy boy and EVERY egg we have eaten since the girls started laying has been fertilized! And yummy!! Once you eat farm fresh the store bought ones just don't cut it any more. And just to make her feel better, there is a pretty easy way to check farm eggs before you crack them...
Have you thought about pure black at all? From what I've read on the boards, if you're striving for lavender offspring, it works well to cross lavender with black.
Yeah I agree, Andy. Part of the reason I said, "if I could". But then if they are a looking after a ton of dogs and don't get outside donations to help keep things going, I can see them charging big bucks. Particularly if people are willing to pay.
LoupGarou, just like my beloved EE's, she's a mutt. I know. It doesn't bother me. They could slap whatever fancy title on her they wanted. I just fell in love with her little face.
Monarc, it was bad enough when I had to take a stray cat in there once. We wanted the cat to find a family as...
Monarc, what an adorable dog! I'll keep the crate in mind. The listing said they've been training her with a crate.
tamelroy, awww. He looks like he's going to grow up to be a BIG puppy! - I decided a long time ago that I could never work in the Humane Society for exactly that reason. I'd go...
