I have two silver penciled hamburgs that one of my broodies hatched. I have never had them as chicks and was wondering if they can be sexed at an early age since the hens/roosters have different feather patterns. They are currently 4 weeks old and have hen feathering. Thanks.
It is fun to watch the pigeons fly around. Although hawks are of concern. I have seen the pigeons outfly a hawk, but sometimes a hawk wins the battle. They are very messy - much messier than chickens. They have a great mothering ability.
We used to raise bowhites. They are brutal to each other as chicks. They also are not very hardy. We still have a pair as pets- the female is handicapped. We definitely won't be raising any more.
I have several light blue incubator egg trays for sale. They were used for quail eggs. I also have some blue incubator egg trays that we used for chicken and pheasant eggs. The trays are $3.00 each. Located in Bethel, OH (Clermont County).
Hi. I am not aware of any rescues in the area. I suggest you put them on Craigs's List. Do not offer to give them away for free. It would be a lot easier to sell them separately than trying to sell the entire group. Also, if you know what type of bantams you have, include that information.
Have a pair of Silver Sebrights born May 2011 for $25. Purchased the pair from a breeder. I have decided to focus on Hamburgs as my only bantams, so I would like to find a good home for my Sebrights.
I would also trade for a pair of Hamburgs or for bantam Wyandotte pullets/hens (for...
I'll be going to the show in Wapakoneta. I haven't been to a show since Dec. 3, so I think I am in withdrawal. I have never shown my birds, but I usually buy birds. I think I have enough birds now, so probably will just go to look around.
After my husband decided to raise bobwhite quail and pheasants, he bought an incubator and set up coops. I decided that since we already had an incubator, I might as well get some eggs to hatch too.
I started with guineas. I have 4 guineas now: 1 royal purple and 3 pearl.
I decided I...
One of my bantam wyandotte pullets just laid her first egg. The texture of the egg had some rough spots. There was no blood on the egg though.
When she perched, she left blood all over the perch. I saw blood in the pine shavings too.
I figure she has broken some blood vessels, but I am...

Is anyone going to the Connersville, Indiana show or know anything about the show? I found out about it on a website, but that is all I have heard about it. I might have a Poultry Press that I haven't looked at yet with more info., but wanted to check here too.
I am really interested in...
