    Ameracauna/Easter egger hen or roo

I would lean toward pullet right now.....you can also post them on the "Easter Egger sexing tricks....." thread for some other experienced guesses. They are not always right and sometimes a "general rule" doesn't work....like my red girl was highly guessed boy.....incorrectly but for the most...

    Is she ok?...

If they have been together supervised and seem to being fine you should be safe to leave them. Due to their sweet nature usually silkies are quick to accept newbies. If they seem to get along well you most likely have nothing to worry about. I would be more cautious if you had a more aggressive...

THREE POLISH DEAD IN LESS THAN TWENTY FOUR HOURS:PLEASE HELP

My feedstore polish were very fragile at the beginning, and had a tough time sleeping because the others were boisterous and the had to always be on alert. The nutridrench is a great suggestion and I separated mine in the brooder by a wire shelving rack that was well secured for the first weeks...

Best backyard chicken that are friendly, easy to tame, etc.?

I truly think it is specific to the actual chicken. I got 3 hatchery blue wyandottes....One is the sweetest, friendliest little 3 month old chicken EVER, 2 are more skittish, my EE's are not easy in any way, My Buff Orpingtons are awesome....just not overly friendly but not flighty, My polish...

5 week old EE gender ID.

No worries, just letting you know. You will probably want to wait for the more definite male signs like saddle feathers or a crow.

5 week old EE gender ID.

Most people won't answer a duplicate post. It looks like a cockerel

    D'uccle Thread

you will need to separate them if it were me, your hen will be miserable. There is probably time to get a couple more pullets and get rid of the cockerels. The absolute lowest ratio of rooster to hens for my liking is 1/6 to keep the girls from being miserably overbred.

    Help with integrating issue!!!

Roost time is always the last place peace happens with integration. I put mine in the big girl side of the coop last night on the floor, the big girls left them alone (they have been in the coop segregated by chicken wire for a week) to be safe I pulled out the meanest girls and put them on the...

    All roosters but what breed?

awww too bad as they are pretty sweet. Mine is very quiet so far no louder than a parrot. I bet if you advertise them someone will be interested.

    All roosters but what breed?

    Utah!

My husband has built me a brooder out of plywood and 2x4's that he has put on wheels for me. It is decent size (a little over 3' x 4') since we had tiny bantam chicks this year that needed to be protected from the l.f. chicks he rigged up a partition a little less than 1/2 by using a wire rack...

Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I am still leaning toward female even with the black throat area.....every other one of my roosters purchased with her have plenty of identifiable male specific feathers, granted none of them are EE (d'Uccle, Polish and Wyandotte) but she literally has nothing but color that is suspect. Her comb...

    Porcelain d'uccle thread

Mine is still just a tad older than yours so not sure how he will be with the l.f. hens. He is maturing faster than any rooster I have had. He is being a bumbling little creeper. I am probably going to put him with my big girls soon to teach him a lesson.

    Porcelain d'uccle thread

Quote:You should maybe give him some time to crow and see if it is really as bad as you think it will be. Mine is no louder than a parrot.

    Porcelain d'uccle thread

Yep you are. his saddle feathers are the ones that are starting to show above his tail, they originate from his back (where a saddle would be if you were saddling him, hence the name) and then if you look at his hackle feathers (around the bottom of his neck basically) you will see that there...
